Buying your first home is hard enough with finding the perfect place, saving for the deposit and all the associated costs. These things can really mount up and make it hard work for first time buyers. However, things are getting easier as the Government in the 2017 Autumn Statement has increased the stamp duty threshold for first time buyers. This means you can purchase a home up to £300,000 and not have to pay stamp duty which is a massive saving. Before this change you would have needed to pay £5,000 stamp duty for a home of £300,000 on top of all mortgage and legal costs.
Low interest rates, less stamp duty to pay, now allow first time buyers to get their first foot on the property ladder without breaking the bank. All that is required now is the perfect property and the right mortgage. Watsons Property, Hansells Conveyancing Solicitors and Hoyl Independent Advisers Ltd will be able to help you with advice for the whole process at our special event.
The First Time Buyer event will take place on Saturday 24 February 2018 between 10am -4pm at our North Walsham branch – 42 Market Place, North Walsham NR28 9BT.
Call in for a ‘one stop shop’ session on buying your first property. There will be a selection of starter home properties available to look at, Hoyl Independent Advisers and Hansells Conveyancing Solicitors will be on hand to discuss costings, legal fees, stamp duty changes and all aspects of purchasing your new home.
