Property Valuation Vs Property Survey

A Quick Guide: Valuation Vs Survey

A property valuation and a property survey are two different types of assessments that are carried out on a property. A valuation is an estimate of the value of a property, while a survey is a detailed assessment of the condition of a property.

A valuation is typically carried out to determine what the property is worth. The valuation will take into account factors such as the location of the property, the size of the property, the condition of the property, and the recent sale prices of similar properties in the area.

A  survey is typically carried out by a qualified surveyor on behalf of the buyer. The surveyor will assess the condition of the property’s structure, roof, walls, foundations, and other major components. The survey will also identify any potential problems with the property, such as structural defects, damp, or hazards.

It is important to note that a property valuation is not a survey and vice versa. A property valuation will not provide any information about the condition of the property, while a survey will not provide any information about the value of the property.

Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to have a property survey carried out is up to you. However, if you are buying a property, it is important to have all of the relevant information about the property before you make a decision.

A property survey can provide you with valuable information about the condition of the property, which can help you make an informed decision about the property.
