Calling all children aged 5-11: Design your ideal lockdown house and be in with a chance of winning a £25 Amazon voucher
Families all over the country have started this term with the challenge of home-schooling and we are aware of the strains school closures continue to put on parents and children. To bring some cheer Watsons is excited to announce the launch of a drawing competition for young children during lockdown.
The competition, which is for children up to age 11, aims to inspire budding young designers and architects by inviting them to submit designs for their ideal lockdown house. We want this to be a fun opportunity for children to focus on drawing and planning while busy parents are juggling work and childcare commitments.
We have created two age categories:
- Aged 5-8
- Aged 8-11
The contest is open to children living in Holt, Aylsham, North Walsham, Sheringham, Cromer, Norwich and surrounding areas.
The prize for the winner in each age category for each area is a £25 Amazon gift voucher. The winners from the regional contests will be put into another competition for the chance to win a further £25 as our overall winner.
Please send photographs of the drawings and the information requested below via a parent or carer’s email address and using the email subject line “my ideal lockdown house”. Additional information in the email should include:
- Your child’s first name
- Their age and date of birth
- Your postcode
- A short explanation of their design and why they have chosen it
All drawings should be emailed to a.forbes@watsons-property.co.uk, and the winner will be announced on Monday 1 March.

- To make the competition as accessible as possible we would like the drawings to be on paper rather than using any computer software and for parents or carers to email in photos of their child’s work

- There is no limit on how many designs you wish to submit
- Content should be appropriate for public use
- By submitting your entry, you authorise Watsons to use the image throughout our website and social media channels indefinitely
- Closing date for entries is 22 February 2021
- The winners are to be judged by Watsons
- The winning entries will be announced on 1 March 2021
