The historic North Norfolk town of Holt is one of the most attractive market towns in the region.
Surrounded by parks, the town is close to the coast, making it an ideal destination for holidaymakers and locals alike. Known for its abundance of 18th century Georgian buildings, the town is home to many art galleries, antique shops, places to eat and independent stores, of which the town is fiercely proud. These are dotted along the high street or tucked away in hidden, charming courtyards and alleyways.
Holt also offers some of the most exclusive restaurants and delicatessens, as well as a high-end department store. Within walking distance of the town centre is the popular Holt Country Park, with over 100 acres of woodland, containing some fantastic cycle and walking paths. When Holt Country Park was initially created, John Watson gave 10 acres to the local authority for the princely sum of £1.
Holt is the seat of Gresham’s School, a well-known long-established public school founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham, originally for boys but co-educational since 1971.
Holt has a train station on the preserved North Norfolk Railway, known as ‘The Poppy Line’, of which it is the south-western terminus.
Our Holt office, located in the heart of the high street, has been an intrinsic part of the community for nearly 30 years and has presented some of the most prestigious homes in North Norfolk. Look out for the clock on the beautifully crafted bus shelter, presented by Watsons to the town, with our name preserved on the clock face.
